Helpo is an agnostic and apolitical Non Governmental Organization for Development, which has been active since 2008 in Portugal, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe and Guinea-Bissau, to promote development through Education, Maternal-Child Nutrition and Health, Humanitarian and Emergency Aid and Education for Development and Global Citizenship.
Helpo operates in 101 areas of intervention, through the construction of schools, libraries, nurseries, nutrition centres, school canteens, rainwater harvesting systems, community training, health education, assistance and continuous training. Helpo funds these activities through the Child Sponsorship Programme, free donations, projects funded by international agencies and companies, currently reaching circa 146,803 children.
